Groupon Tests New Credit Card Reader Similar to Ebay.

Groupon to gain more revenue from small businesses is developing a credit card reader with the help of Infinite Peripherals. By entering the mobile payment processing market, the Chicago-based company hopes to expand its dominant market share in the online coupon market. Groupon has not yet decided on a fee structure for this service. The readers at this moment are being tested using the iPhone or iPod Touches in the San Francisco area.

Currently, companies using similar technologies are Pay Pal, Intuit, VeriFone Systems and Square Inc.
